Miner and Equipment Tracking System (METS), Version 2.1 has received Intrinsic
Safety (IS) and Part 23 approvals for use in underground coal mines by the U.S.
Department of Labor's Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA).

"MSHA approval of METS 2.1 gives us the green light to proceed with scheduled
installations," said Matrix President Aric Pryor. "We are extremely proud of this
achievement and all of the hard work and effort by the Matrix staff and MSHA to
complete this approval."

METS 2.1 is a cost-effective and reliable solution for current West Virginia and
anticipated federal MINER Act tracking requirements. Matrix Design Group (MDG)
designed the system to be fully IS and redundant, but without the multitude of
maintenance-intensive underground power connections and batteries required by other
systems. METS 2.1 was also designed specifically for survivability and post-accident
use in underground coal mines, even after power to the mine has been shut off.
